The ABCs share a Dutch heritage that unites them culturally, but each island is in a different stage of development, and each has a distinct character. Curacao is the largest and most economically developed of the three islands. The beaches are lovely, and the vast countryside is covered in a mix of desert and tropical flora. Much of the island's colorful architecture is authentically restored and protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Top sites include the core of Willemstad, the historic capital city, and restored mansions in the suburban communities of Scharloo, Pietermaai, and Curacaoan. Each region of Curacao offers a different type of landscape to explore. Christoffel Park sprawls over the hilly western end, which rises to 1,230-foot/375-meter Mt. Christoffel, the highest point on the island. The eastern end levels out to an austere plain with few roads and little to interest tourists. On the north coast, you will find stunning limestone cliffs and the impressive Hato Caves. The south coast is lined with infinite beaches and bays. Covers it all, 100% Curacao

I was looking at all the ABC (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) travel guides trying to find the best one with the most information about Curacao and this is it. The others, I had heard from product reviews, contained only brief mentions of activities on Curacao. This book is the best source I've been able to find about the island all while containing contact information and pricing for all the suggested things to do.
I'm planning a honeymoon, and I wondered if Curacao would have enough to hold my interests. This book put those fears to rest. Now I'm left wishing I'll have more time on the island.
Tl;dr: Nicely done book with loads of facts. The best resource I've found anywhere about the island.

Excellent Guide Book

The book was up-to-date (as of July 2013), well written, and covered all of the important sites on the island. The maps were not detailed enough, especially for driving, so be sure to pick up a better map when you get there. The restaurant recommendations were okay. Overall, this was a good guide book for Curacao. And the island was great!

Great Resource!

This book--along with the street map we received at the rental car counter--was our vacation "bible." It provided in-depth descriptions of the most popular tourist attractions and restaurants and listed many more off the beaten path. It was definitely a good investment!
